Microneedling treatments utilise a specialized device with needles, creating tiny micro-injuries to the facial skin. These micro-injuries stimulate the skin’s natural wound-healing response, which kickstarts the production of collagen and elastin. After microneedling treatments, most clients will experience mild redness immediately after their appointment, which will fade within a day or two. Some clients have also experienced slight swelling, dryness, or peeling for a few days, however, these effects are typically mild and temporary.
Microneedling results are not immediate but can be noticeable within a few weeks. Some clients have seen improvements in skin tone and texture within 1-2 weeks, with more significant effects of fine lines, scars, and hyperpigmentation in 4-6 weeks.
To maximise the effectiveness of microneedling treatments, we would recommend that our clients avoid sun exposure or hard skincare such as retinoids, exfoliating scrubs, and chemical peels at least 48 hours before their treatment. It would also be advisable to avoid waxing or hair removal on the treated area, or applying heavy makeup – clients should arrive with clean skin.
We recommend that our clients drink plenty of water for at least 24 hours before and after each session. We also advise clients not to drink any alcohol for 24 hours before and after treatment.
