How does the SMART Diode Laser work?
Featuring triple wavelength technology, the MD Diode 3 combines the 3 most effective laser wavelengths into one single applicator that simultaneously target different tissue depths and anatomical structures within the hair follicle. By combining the absorption and penetration of 3 wavelengths with the increased comfort, the MD Diode 3 is the most safe and efficient technology available today.
Does it hurt?
The MD Diode 3 uses SHR™ technology, the only clinically proven method of laser hair removal that is more comfortable than previous technology and safe for all skin types, including dark and tanned skin. Its unique gradual heating effect ‘stacks pulses’ so the heat builds, effectively damaging the hair follicle and hindering re-growth, while preventing injury to the surrounding tissue.
What hair colours can be treated?
All hair colours can be treated with the exception of blonde, whte or red hair.
Can I have treatment on tanned skin?
Yes! The unique way that Diode 3 works means treatment is safe on tanned skin. We advice you to wait 5 days after sun exposure. However we advise you to wait 2 weeks after a self tan application before having treatment to ensure all the fake tan has worn off.
How many treatments will I need?
Each DIODE 3 treatment effects approximately 30% of the hair within the target area. The average for a successful program is 8 treatments.
How does the SHR technology compare with other hair removal methods?
SHR is the future of permanent hair reduction that allows for safe, pain-free treatments. SHR delivers low energy light via rapid “pulses” to gently & effectively heat the hair stem cells preventing re-growth, with little or no trauma to surrounding tissue.
Research has shown that this gentle ‘pulsing method’ is more efficient than the high intensity & high temperatures that are associated with traditional IPL/laser.
Combined with e-motion technology SHR deliver better, faster, safer and more gentle treatments than traditional Laser & IPL.
